                         THE VILLAGE OF NALIS AZURE

--------- Map submitted to the 'Make Something Unreal competition' ---------
----------------- by Willhaven on the behalf of Shinigami. -----------------

Thank you for downloading this level. I really appreciate it and I hope you
will enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it.

History: This map is a variation of a single player map that I have had
luying around for some time on my pc while I was doing my single player map
pack for Unreal1. The map pack (which will be out as soon as possible) has
the original map (which is quite different) and another 19. I began making
this CTF map conversion when I overheard several UT players moan about the
lack of CTF maps with bases that are totally unlike. This map is the answer
to their prayers, one base is set on a sunken ship surrounded by water, the
other flag is inside a church.
You might think this brings about the question about which base is easier
to defend, but trust me, I have played this map tons, and I have made sure
that each base has unique characteristics that make them easier or harder to
breach in more then one way...

Music info: the tune that comes with this map is made by Maverick from
Blacktron Music Productions (BMP). I remixed his tune from 32 channels to 20
and added some new content to it. The original tune for this map (again by
me) was a bit too "hardcore'ish" and did not fit the map at all. This new
tune is much more dark and moody and hopefully someone out there will like
it (I do), thanks Mav my friend :).

The first version of this CTF map was sent to the 'Make Something Unreal
Contest' in the hope that it would land one of the famous 15 best map places,
but it didnt make it. I admit it, but what I don't understand is this -> why
did the 15 best maps shrink to only 10 ? Oh well, what I was told is that
the original was simply too slow. I understand this, and did my utmost to
make this version run faster, and this it does too I'm happy to say :)

Due to the placement of the player starting points in this map, it is even
possible to play it as a Death Match and a Domination game. Yes, you heard
me right, I have added three Domination control points in there too. The
Domination control points do not shed light tho'... mainly because they would
do it in a CTF game too, so I disabled that feature, but as you will find out,
the player starting points are littered out all over the map as are weapon
and ammo points, so DM and DOM games should be quite playable (this should
explain to most people why everything is so 'chaotic' in this map hehe).

I did have some complications making this map because of that !@$!#% ship
in the blue base. Due to its shape and orientation, it caused its fair share
of BSP holes and other bugs. The waterwheel which although nice, is another
source of worry. If you remove it from the map, the map generally speeds up
some 30%... @!$!#@$ Rotating Movers... oh well, I left it in because it looks
so nice.

If you see any bugs, just report them over to me, if you have any comments,
you can once again send them over :) and thank you for your interest, please
enjoy the fruits of my labour :D

New Sounds : A new music
New Graphics : Yes, a few new textures...
Botmatch Enhanced : Yes
Known bugs : Mabey a few visual glitches if viewing polys from
certain angles. The Ship is a real pain due to its
shape and orientation, it causes a few invisible
collision halls into the air and there is no way I
                         can get rid of them.
